Cache Memory
In addition to the 256-KB L2 cache built into the PowerPC
G4 microprocessor, the 933-MHz and 1-GHz configurations also have
an external level 3 (L3) backside cache. The L3 cache consists of
2 MB of DDR (double data rate) SDRAM. The ratio of the clock speeds of the microprocessor and
cache is 4:1; the clock speeds are shown in Table 2-1.
