Leopard Reference Library: Apple Applications
iTunes is an application that lets users buy music online or import it from a CD, and then store it in a music library on a Macintosh or Windows-compatible computer. Users can then play that music on a computer, store it on an iPod to play elsewhere, or burn it to a CD. Developers can create plug-ins to provide custom visual effects for iTunes on Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, or Windows 4.1 or later.
