Leopard Reference Library: Networking
Secure transport technology consists of programming interfaces that allow network communication to be secure from malicious intrusion or interception. Developers can use the programming interfaces provided by Apple to establish and maintain a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) or Transport Layer Security (TLS) session in a way that is independent of the underlying transport protocol.
