iChat is a communications hub, allowing users to hold text-based chats, hold live video and audio conferences, transfer files, and provide online presence information with other iChat and AOL Instant Messenger users. Developers can include support for the Instant Message framework in an application, which allows the application to share presence information, such as a user's online status, custom icons, and connection states.
