This document is a Mac OS X manual page. Manual pages are a command-line technology for providing documentation. You can view these manual pages locally using the man(1) command. These manual pages come from many different sources, and thus, have a variety of writing styles.

For more information about the manual page format, see the manual page for manpages(5).

     ctan(double complex z);

     long double complex
     ctanl(long double complex z);

     float complex
     ctanf(float complex z);

DESCRIPTION
     csin(z) computes the sine of the complex floating-point number z.

     ccos(z) computes the cosine of the complex floating-point number z.

     ctan(z) computes the tangent of the complex floating-point number z.

NOTES
     csin, ccos, and ctan are defined in terms of the complex hyperbolic functions as follows:

           csin(z) = -i * csinh(i*z),
           ccos(z) = ccosh(i*z),
           ctan(z) = -i * ctanh(i*z).

SEE ALSO
     csinh(3) ccosh(3) ctanh(3) complex(3)

STANDARDS
     The csin(), ccos(), and ctan() functions conform to ISO/IEC 9899:1999(E).
