Internal Modem

The iBook comes with a built-in modem. The connector for the modem is an RJ-11 connector on the left rear corner of the computer.

The modem has the following features:

• modem bit rates up to 56 Kbps (V.90 modem standards)

• fax modem bit rates up to 14.4 Kbps

The modem appears to the system as a serial port that responds to the typical AT commands. The modem provides a sound output for monitoring the progress of the modem connection.
