The CD-ROM
The CD-ROM disc that accompanies this book contains all the code, information, and development files you need to create Cyberdog part editors or network-service components. The CD-ROM includes these items, among others:
- installers for both OpenDoc and Cyberdog software
- critical development material, including header files, project files, and build instructions
- full documentation, including the complete text of this book in Adobe
\xC5 Acrobat \xC5 format, QuickView format, and HTML format
- Acrobat provides a fully formatted book with page-numbered table of contents, index, and live hypertext cross-references. You can print all or portions of the book, and you can also view it online and use indexed search facilities.
- QuickView format is that used by the Macintosh Programmer's Toolbox Assistant. In this format, you can use full-text searching capabilities and ubiquitous hypertext jumps to find reference information quickly. You can even search for information and retrieve method templates from within development environments that can communicate with QuickView.
- HTML format allows you to read this book online, using any Internet browser software (including Cyberdog).
- complete source code for all samples documented in this book
- a tutorial (in HTML format) that takes you through step-by-step development of a simple Cyberdog display part.
- executable samples, demos, and presentations that illustrate the range of possibilities for Cyberdog development
