Q: I am having a problem with text justification with glyphs inserted by the new "insertion" subtable in GX 1.1b1. Please explain the manner in which text insertion and justification behave in QuickDraw GX 1.1.1. A: If you are using the pig-Latin approach to insertion, then the justification behavior you are observing is as-designed. Multi-glyph pig-Latin endings are treated as one kashida group, so they don't have justification spaces added to them. This behavior may change in a future version of GX, but it will remain the same in GX 1.1. However, if you use the split-vowel approach to insertion, the inserted characters will be justified properly. |
