Leopard Reference Library: Hardware & Drivers
Mac OS X supports standard Ethernet (10 Mbit/s), Fast Ethernet (100 Mbit/s), and Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Mbit/s). Developers can use Ethernet to take advantage of existing Ethernet networks or to enable networking at higher speeds than may be available using wireless networks.
